Study Permit Is Taking Too Long (Abu Dhabi)

I have been waiting nearly 11 weeks for my Study Permit to be fully processed however, it still has not been completed. My university told me I have to reach by September 19th otherwise they'll revoke my admission, and I basically lose an entire year of studying. Is there anyway I could possibly speed the process up, for example is there a way to inquire for urgent processing? I live in the United Arab Emirates and my study permit is still being processed by the Abu Dhabi Canadian Embassy. What do you recommend me to do?

There's no process for requesting urgent processing or speeding up processing.

You can certainly send an email to ask about the status of your application and to indicate that your university has given you until Sept 9 to join.

I did, and they said that it's still in queue, and it took them 15 days to respond to that. Another 15 days for a response wouldn't do anything because I need to at least get my study permit processed by September 12th.

It could possibly take around 13 weeks. That's how long they take, try going through a case processing inquiry. Best recourse would be to rather wait.

The last thing I would want to happen is that I miss the deadline. I can wait 12 weeks, however, 13 is pushing it. I just wish I could know whether they would be able to process it before my deadline.

I applied from Bahrain on June 17th, passed my medicals on August 2nd and since then...nothing. I'm in my 11th week now. This is crazy. Praying constantly to get that request. If it takes too long I might have to defer ??? . Does your uni have a deferral option? Better than getting your offer revoked.

Any updates? For Bahrain, processing times just shot up from 6 wks to 11 wks :'(
