Hi, any update on your application? I applied for study permit from inside Canada on July 28th, 2021 but havent got any update yet. I applied from inside Canada because I am already in Canada and had a study permit which now has expired (Sept 30th, 2021).

Hi, Thank you for the reply. I couldnt understand. You mean that you haven't got the extension yet? what do you mean that 'file is complete'?

Sorry. I haven't got the extension yet. A file is complete when all the elements are provided to the IRCC, such as biometrics or the CAQ for those applying for Quebec.

Okay. Thats really strange that they haven't even given the extension. Because the processing time for extension of study permit is just 44 days. I applied from Quebec (Montreal) as well. Its almost three months and no response from IRCC.

Thank you. Yeah I will keep you posted as well if there is any update. I have started my PhD in Sept and now its almost one month that my study permit is expired.

i applied for study permit inside canada on august 4th 2021 but i just got one message that has been application transferred for processing to case processing centre etobicoke. do you know how long will it take they did not ask for medical or bio metrics too its been almost 3 months i have not recieved any other updates from them.

Normally you can’t apply for a study permit inside Canada. Usually people have their study permit processed through the US if they are applying from Canada. Not sure what is going with your application.

my study permit expired on jan 31st 2021 but government extended timeline to restore status till august 31 2021 so i applied on August 4th for restoration and extension of study permit

So you applied for an extension not a new study permit. Have you been studying or working in Canada since January 31st?
