Study permit inside Canada has been waiting since December 2020

I submitted my study permit application in December 2020 for school starts in January.
Then i deferred to May, but still no notification after my case transferred to CPC-edmonton case center.

Now I deferred to September.

I called IRCC, the agent told me it's unlikely they'll process my study permit anytime soon. She told me it will take 12 months. WTF? The agent told me my case is taking special measurements, but i'd like to get a rejection than waiting all the time.

I am a refugee claimant in Canada. My lawyer told me I could get a study permit before the hearing, but there is nothing progressing.

Any idea what should I do?

I am a refugee claimant. From I know I can get the study permit before hearing. I also applied work permit at the same time and still waiting for that.

Ah - I see.

I think you would be better off posting your question in the Asylum / Refugee section. I think you will get better advice there since this won't be treated as a standard study permit application.
