study permit extension

hey guys! obviously I know that the delay is due to the pandemic going on right now... however, I applied for a study permit extension in December and still haven’t received a response. I had to extend it because for some reason my permit expires the 31st, a month or two shy of the end of my semester. If my permit expires before the 31st will I still be able to get my degree? am I still able to work? thanks for your help!

Under the implied visa status, wherein you applied an extension before the expiry of your current visa, you can still work/study until an IRCC decision is made.
