I am currently a student in McGill university, my study permit is valid until august 2020. I am expected to graduate by the end of December 2019 and start my PHD in january 2020. Do you have any idea whether I should renew my study permit right after I graduate, or can I do it in the first semester of my PhD. My specific question is: if I leave and reenter canada on my old study permit would I be allowed to re enter with a valid permit but enrolled in a different program?
