Study permit extension question. 3 months passed, still no reply!!!!
i have submitted my study permit extension on May 27th, but till now i have no result except for two updates emails and several automatic monthly email. in the July, i have two update notification ( not the automatic monthly one), but no changes in my CIC account. any one in similar situations? what can we do? my class begins in a week? i am so worried that i will be kicked out of the class? is there any possibility that the CIC will carry out some backgroud checks or verifications? or the officers just miss my case?

I'm in the same situation you are. I've applied on the 28th May and I'm still waiting.
Called multiple times and all they said was that they're processing my application.
If you are applying for an extension, then you can study because you're under implied status.
That's what I'm doing anyway, my classes start on 8th September. I hope everything will come out this week or the next.

PS: What's your province? I'm from B.C.

I applied for study permit extension on June 19. It is still not approved. I got two emails about update other than the monthly notification emails. I called CIC last week and they said my application is still being processed and they will send an enquiry on my behalf to CIC. I am from Vancouver, BC and studying at UBC.

As far as I know, the applicants who wait longer time to process their study permit extension all get approved. By contrast, the applicants whose application is rejected get quick response. Is my perception correct?

FINALLLYYYY!!!!! CIC approved my study permit extension application today I got the approval letter on myCIC account.

Applied for extension: June 19
Got 4 update emails in total - 2 emails in the month of July, 1 yesterday and 1 today
Processing time: 70 days
Province: BC

i think the agent who answered your phone call was just bluffing. i submitted my case in May 27th, and no result yet. i called them today, and one agent told me that my case is still being processed. some cases just need longer time to process, so just wait. and they also told me the deadline is the end-November. also, i looked through the website. few people got denial in the study permit extension, the denial only comes to the students who fail to submit the necessary document or the passport expires soon. so no need to worry too much. let's wait.

make calls 3 times to CIC, "on processing....just wait....cant speed up....blablabla...."
