Study Permit Extension - Part-time Final Semester

Hi all,

A student has to complete 8 courses to graduate and their study permit expires on Jan 31, 2025. This student is planning to complete 3 courses in the spring/summer semester, 3 courses in the Fall semester and 2 courses in the Winter semester. Will their study permit be renewed if the final semester of study is part-time?

Is 3 courses full-time? It isn’t full-time for all programs. Is this program supposed to be completed in 1 year or 8 months?

Hi there, yes, 3 courses is full-time for the student’s educational institution. The program is actually 4 years and the maximum amount of time a student can take to complete the program is 8 years.
