I applied for a study permit extension in late October and just got a notification that they require a medical exam. Is this normal? Neither criterion applies to me, I'm not working in the health sector, and my country is also not on the list. Should I call CIC? I'm worried that because of this delay my study permit won't be renewed in time (end of Feb) and obviously I also do not want to pay $350 for the exam.
Did you provide a medical exam in your initial application?

I did not, as I was not required to do so as a German citizen. I am just a little confused where this sudden medical exam comes from.
Hi,
I am facing a similar situation. Could you kindly let me know what happened in your case eventually? Did you manage to get the medical request reconsidered?
