Hello,
I'm an international student who studies at one of the universities in Quebec and I have to extend my study permit and CAQ since both of them will expire on Aug 31, 2022.
Right now I already applied for CAQ extension a few days ago. Does anyone know if I need to wait for the decision for my CAQ extension before applying for Study Permit extension or should I just apply for Study Permit extension while waiting for the CAQ extension approval?
I think I can just apply for Study Permit extension now but I just want to double-check if it's okay to do so.
You applied too early. You should apply for CAQ in April, It takes 2-3 weeks to get. File your study permit extension 2 months before expiry. Applying early doesn't mean they will consider your request early.

Yes, it's better to apply early if possible. That's why I'm applying asap.
Anyway, I got an answer to my question. I consulted my university and basically I have to obtain the CAQ approval first and then apply for a Study Permit extension.
