Hi !
On August 23rd I applied for a new study permit from France as my previous one expired on August 30th. I provided biometrics on September 2nd. I haven't received any updates until today (September 30th) where they said they started reviewing my eligibility (while still running a background check). I know I won't receive AIP since it's my second study permit and my degree started in Fall 2017, but is this a sign that they started processing SP again and I can expect to receive it soon ?
Thanks !
Did you apply for a study permit extension since you already had a study permit, or are you applying for a new one entirely?

I applied for a new one entirely since we cannot apply for extension from outside Canada

You will likely be issued an AIP soon (1-3 weeks) since you applied before September 15, previously had a SP and they started reviewing your eligibility.

Are you sure about that ? When I e-mailed IRCC they said that AIP is only for new applicants, who startes their degree in May/ September 2020

I would trust the IRCC over any assumptions. If they said that, then that's definitely the case. I think they will issue your SP directly but "when" is the question.

As a matter of fact you were right, I received AIP this morning. I hope they will send the introduction letter or permit soon.

That's good! You can commence your studies online now if you wish. Good luck!
