[Posted previously in other thread, which I realized is not correct one, hence posting here]
Dear All,
I am filing the study permit application and plan to show the loan taken by my wife (who is doing a job and wishes to continue her job in home country).
I have been thinking if this loan would be any issue in visa application?
Also, thinking that this loan will support additionally as home ties as well since my wife will be paying off the loan while continuing her job.
Can I get an affidavit from my wife stating all the above and stating clearly that she has taken this loan to support me towards my studies expenses?
Do you have the option of using the loan to pay for the fees directly and inflating your savings as much as possible? Then, you can use proof of payment of tuition paid. Loans are generally advised against (if possible) as it shows that you may a risk of being financially destitute.
Thanks for the reply.
For the initial fees, I would be paying the first-semester fee from my current savings and would only be showing the loan amount taken by my wife as a support to my living expenses and future fees involved. would that be a problem?
Or if my wife takes the loan and transfers the amount to my account claiming the amount to be a gift amount for me, would that be anyhow better than the earlier one?
I got a suggestion from a friend (who happens to an educational consultant) that I should show the amount as a loan taken by my wife as it would eventually show my wife's binding to the home country and in turn prove as my home tie as well. Do you think that is a better option anyway?
As to your question, yes I'm 31 already and a working professional for the past 8 years, but I don't have enough savings to support the POF as a whole by myself, hence I am needed to take this loan amount.

In the first part, you are basically repeating the question. It may increase your home ties but you are doing it at the expense of financial capability. The best option is to use your loan to pay off your tuition use the receipts from that to show you have already paid your tuition while still maintaining a sizeable savings account that you use to show as proof of living expenses. Up to you to decide how to do it. Good luck.
