Do international students at a Canadian University with minor dependents have to pay extra for their children to go to school?Or are they charged the same as residents for children's school fees?
Have searched all over (CIC) and can find no mention about extra fees for minor dependents of students with Canadian study visa. But do know that in countries like Australia the government charges AUS$ 8000pa pr child until PR is granted.

Schools are provincal matter, so you would have to check the provincal and city site where you intend to study to see if they charge for international students. For example in Vancouver, if the parent has a 1year or more study permit, (http://www.vsb.bc.ca/parentsfamilies/Registeringforschool/kindergartennotborninvancouver.htm) then the child would be registered, if not it is $12,000 per year.
We are looking at Vancouver I have been accepted at USQ in Australia but it is turning out to be much expensive than what we expected. I am looking at applying at UBC-it looks like this route will be better for us.
