student visa information required

hello guys. i hope all of you guys doing good. a friend of mine was granted 1 year UK student visa and he unfortunately overstayed there for 10 months.but he came back voluntarily and there is no deportation order or stamp on his passport. he asked me to find out can he get study visa for canada? Thanks in advance.

I guess depends how honest he wants to be on his application with travel/ residence history as overstays are considered seriously and can result in refusal. Even if not reported these things have a habit of surfacing sometimes just through some slip up on reporting income tax for example for the illegal period. Nobody here can really say whether will succeed or not but any misrepresentation if found out can result in a possible multi year exclusion.

thanks for reply.yes thats what i said to him. but i had confusion about deportation and overstay.i thought if he came back voluntarily then that would not matter but i was wrong.thanks for guidance.

Brother did you get visa ? I am In the same situation plz help me I was overstayed aswell in the uk and wanted to apply canada visa . Shall I mention in or not ? Thanks

Of course you should mention! You already overstayed which is a serious offense. Now, you want to commit another serious offense?

Misrepresentation means a 5 year ban and it will affect every application you make to other countries.

Try to explain your circumstances, your situation. If they were extraordinary, the VO may understand. You never know.

But don't lie on the application. You can't repair the past but lying.
