Student Visa from UAE

Hi All,

Has anyone recently applied for a student visa to Canada from UAE? What are the processing times from the application to receiving your passport back? Me and my husband have a well travelled history, we have 10 year US visa, we travelled to europe and far east asia (hong kong, etc..) Also my husband is US educated Masters degree holder and has a good job here. Will we get the visas easily?
My husband also wants to come to Canada with me and get an open work permit as allowed. Should we apply for our visas together? or should I apply first and then he should apply if I get a visa. Also should he apply for work permit from here or should we first land in Canada and then apply?
Lastly, how can one apply for work permit after reaching Canada? I was told that you can apply at the port of entry (airport)..is that true?

If you have a letter of introduction from VISA (the same process as with SP).

You should apply for SP and your husband should apply for either OWP or for visit visa , and then apply for WP from Canada.
