Student visa for 1 year deferred course

Hi Everyone. I have an approved student visa with an expiry of 30th Sep 2022. My intake was for march 2021 but I deferred to March 2022.

I am a little confused as to how to approach the visa situation. Do I need to apply for another one ?

Visa allows you to enter Canada. It is different from the Study Permit which allows you to remain in Canada. You can always apply for a visa when its about to expire. If you are not planning on leaving Canada while still studying, you’re OK. Be more concerned on what’s stated in your SP.

Ok so basically -> Visa allows me to enter -> Permit allows me to stay in Canada.

I sent my new LOA from the college to IRCC through a web form so ideally, that should work right?

As long as your Visa is valid you can enter Canada (still up to Immigration Officer at the POE). You have to enter Canada before your visa expires.
