Student visa application, answer the deadly question YES/NO.

Hi all,

I will be applying for canadian student permit next week, however i need your input on this issue.earlier in may 2008 i applied for FSW, but the new 38 list of occupation cancelled my chances and decision was made on my online application status (not received letter from cic though).

Now, apparantly the asnwer to the below question (from the visa application form) should be YES. do i have to attach a letter explaining that im going as student and would be back once my studies are done?
if i answer NO. would they know that NO is not the honest answer?


Have you applied to any canadian immigration visas (permanent resident, student, worker, temporary resident (visitor), temporary resident permit?

The answer is yes, they know from CAIPS that you have an application in the system. You don't have to attach a letter, but it wouldn't hurt outlining why you wish to study in Canada.
