I have student visa, but not study permit to study for a 4-month course. Now, I want to apply for a study permit for a 2-year course and I am inside Canada. On IRCC portal do I select inside or outside Canada? Because the portal eligibility section reads. Has your student permit expired or not? Which I don't have in the first instance, but only student visa.

Other question on the portal is do you have valid study or work permit? that I don't have.

So, do I select inside or outside Canada on IRCC portal, when applying for study permit?

It sounds like you are looking at the application to apply for a SP extension which would not be the correct one as you don't have a SP right now, so you should be applying for a SP not an extension. You would select inside Canada since you are here.

What do you mean by having a student visa but no study permit? That doesn’t exist. Do you mean you arrived as a visitor and are attending a 4 month program (typically language program) while on a TRV. If a program is less than 6 months you can study on a normal visitor visa.
