Student permit eligability???

hello everyone.

I am new to this forum. I have a question regarding my student permit. I'll explain my circumstances.

I recevied my acceptance to come and study my course in canada( 1yr full time). I am arriving in janurary 2011, My course starts in March 2011.

There is a 11 month part time course i would like to change to starting in sept '11. Can i use this student permit to start my new choice of course with or do i have to re apply for a new permit???? and also is it possible for me to get a part time student permit for canada if i wanted to do it that way?

I think you have to be a full time student in order to qualify for the study permit. You can change your course of study as long as you are studying full time.

Is it ok for me to start a 5 month full time course in sept till jan with that study permit? I wount be studying from march till sept 2011. i would then start in sep 2011 to study the 5 month course.

You can study what you like and for whatever period of time given that your study permit is still valid but gaps will make it difficult for you to extend your study permit.

If i dont start with my college in march and i choose to wait until sep to start my studies. Will my college notify immigration that i am not studying with them???

Will immigration not be wondering what i am doing in canada if i am not studying?? Will i still be eligable to stay there if my course i choose doesnt start till sept or will i have to come back to canada in sep?

No, your college won't notify CIC but of course you'll have to extend your visa and study permit at some stage and thats when the real problem for you starts ! CIC will surely question where you spent all that time if you werent studying and should the reason for visa extension be deemed valid considering you didnt follow the conditions of study permit previously.

Can i leave the country on a holiday? Will they check where i am studying when i return at port of entry or can i just go through cause my study permit is valid?
