Hi guys,

(1) I was wondering if it is okay for me to apply for a student permit while I'm in Canada? I booked a round-trip to return to my country(Barbados) therefore I would not be changing my status from visitor to student. I will then book a one way once my permit has been issued and then validate it on re-entry. So I was just wondering if that is okay?

(2) I recently opened a joint account with my dad 3 months ago but I see that they stipulate that you should have statements 4 months old. Would I have to wait until the 4 month period is reached or is there some other document that I can produce?

Thank you very much for your assistance. :D

1. You can't apply for SP inside Canada since you are a visitor.

Does anyone have an input?

1. Yes, you can apply on line showing your residence in Barbados, or by paper to the Port of Spain office.
