I need some information on Schooling visa in Canada for minors. my Query is ...
If some child comes to Canada for schooling visa (primary school) along with his parents then His parents will get a working rights in Canada as well ?
One immigration consultant in India told me that Guardians of minor will get full working rights along with the schooling visa of their child under Student Guardian Visa.
Your expert advice on above query will be highly appreciated.
There is no such thing as a guardian visa. The parent would have to apply for a regular visitor visa. It is illegal to work in Canada on a visitor visa and you have no access to health care or other benefits. Also, you can only stay in Canada temporarily as a visitor.
If the parent wants their child to attend school in Canada, they will need to find a guardian who is already in Canada as a citizen, permanent resident or on a work permit.
Thanks for your reply scylla. One consultant told me that with schooling visa we can get PG1 visa for ten years and we also get working rights with PG1 visa.I still have a doubt on the wording of that consultant. Can you please tell me whether this statement is true or not.
Have you actually read the information about a PG1 visa and the fact it is a parent. / grandparent visa sponsored by either a Canadian citizen or PR to usually bring a parent or grandparent to Canada for extended stay as a visitor. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa-who.asp
Not really sure what advice your consultant is giving you but does not seem correct at all given there would be thousands of people sending their minor children to school in Canada on basis of getting an attached visa and for sure that would not happen.
Your only option would be to either take up a study permit or find a job offer to support a work permit in which case you could accompany your child who could attend school.
