Student GIC question funding from Canada

Hi everyone
I created a GIC account at TD Bank and now it is time to fund the account.
If my brother lives in Canada and I have wire transferred him some money can he go to the bank and fund my GIC account or is there a hard rule that I need to fund the account using wire transfer from Indian bank itself in India?

You need to initiate the transaction from your personal account in India
