I'd like to know if it's ok for me to rent an apartment for a while in Gatineau, QC when I didn't get my PR through Quebec and my COPR explicitly says that my city of destination is Ottawa.
Sure - you can do that. But when you land, make sure you provide a non-Quebec address for the mailing of your PR card - otherwise you may be refused landing.
I'm assuming that I can change that address later then for when I'm back in Ottawa (only staying in Gatineau for a couple of weeks, just don't have a definitive address in Ottawa yet)
IS it necessary to give the address of the province which nominated you even if you dnt have a permanent address there currently
In my case i am doing soft landing next month and will give the address of my friend in toronto so is it fine or i have risk of entry being denied
We booked an apt trough AirBnb in Gatineau, but the host cancelled the reservation a few weeks before our landing, so we had to book in Ottawa. The good thing was that we didn't have to worry about our address being in Quebec anymore.
It could be a problem the question is you have to prove your ties to Ontario by staying in Gatineau it could be not good for you even get rejected , I suggest you to have an address in Ottawa ASAP and send your rental agreement ASAP through CSE .
I'm exactly in the same situation applied from Quebec (montreal) as soon as I got ITA I moved to Ontario and provided my rental aggrement to show my intention to move .
