I am currently in Canada on TRV while my Outland application is in process. Just got my medical request.
1. Does anyone know if it will be a problem if I do my medical here in Canada? Should I go back to the Philippines to do it?
2. Is it gonna be a problem if I stay here to wait for my PR application? I don't plan to overstay. I plan to leave before 6 months and come back or request for an extension if need be (just a tourist not working at all)
I was told by a consultant that staying in Canada while waiting for my PR is inappropriate. He said we should change my application to inland coz it will seem that we are working the system by staying in Canada on TRV while on an Outland application since Outland applications are only for couples who are not together.
I would really appreciate any information you guys can give me.

Your consultant, like many others, doesn't seem to know what they are talking about.
There is no requirement for an application to be inland even if the person lives in Canada.
You can do your medical at any panel physician anywhere in the world, it has nothing to do with where you are from or the type of application etc.
Yeah. It's certainly starting to look like he doesn't know what he was talking about. I read more about inland VS outland and you are correct. So annoying. Because of what he said, instead of calling the clinic and setting up an appointment today, now I gotta wait until Monday. Oh well. I guess what's two days after waiting all this time. This forum has certainly helped me and a lot out there. THANKS A LOT YOU GUYS!

I kept it as Outland. in Canada on TRV. Not sure what I will do when passport comes back. I have been told that after you get your passport back along with CoPR you can visit your local IRCC office for the landing interview.

Should keep in mind that a few people fedback on here that IRCC office appointments , no walk in capability appointments only, can take a few months to organise which is why many people go for the flagpole option if border is close.

Landed as a PR already. All went smoothly. You can keep it as Outland and have her come on TRV. You can do medical here. Just can't work or study while in Canada. Good luck on your application.
Yes. You have to leave the country and come back as PR. Flagpole Via the US border, schedule an interview with IRCC office, or like we did, took a vacation for a week and came back.
You have to apply for the extension like TRV. Fill out the forms and submit supporting docs via online and pay $100. I did it and I didn't receive a reply until my TRV expired but that's okay. We received passport request after a few weeks of submitting the extension. You're be on implied status as soon as you pay, complete and submit the extension application.
