Hi, due to family circumstances , i have to stay in my home country India for 5-6 months after Citizenship application filing. Can I stay out of Canada after filing/sending complete Citizenship application for 5-6 months time-period ? thanks.
I was in same situation...stayed out after sending application for 6 months, as long u have valid pr it's ok ... and u can also postpone the test if it comes during vacation .
Just want to clarify one thing: You must remain a PR in good standing until your citizenship oath. That means: It is NOT enough if your PR card is valid until the oath. At any given point, you must have been physically present in Canada 730 days in the last five years (PR residency obligation). If you haven't lived outside Canada over the last years, you will be fine, but just so you know.

Hi thanks for reply.
I have not stayed out of Canada in last countinous 3 years, and have valid PR. It will be my first stay out of Canada after landing/getting PR. Since Landing I have not left Canada, not a single visit to any country, so that's not a problem.
I will stay outside Canada for 6-8 months, and then will return back to Canada, most probably if everything worked well, will get Citizenship Test date email after 8 or 9 months (8/9 months after Canada citizenship application filing date). Do you think it will be safe to stay for 8 months outside Canada. Thanks
