does anyone have any pointers on what should be included in the statement of purpose for the study permit? i know some people have had their study permits rejected because the PO did not feel like they would return to their country after they completed their studies. I have been in Canada since 2007 studying then working and now back to school for masters.
Any all pointers in what i should add to my statement of purpose will help.

Same as others do. You are staying in Canada since 2007 and studying doesn't mean that you will not go back to your home country after you finish your new program. Just make sure your staying was legal and you can submit proper documentation.
On the other hand, since you are working there and have a valid work permit in Canada, is it possible that for you the situation is different? You don't have to show tie with your country of origin?? Possible. Because you are applying from inland.

so in canada since 2007 study then work so just out of interest is there not a rule about maximum working of 4 years for a temp resident with a few exceptions such as a NOC o or a job ? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2011/2011-03-24.asp
May not apply here but that would be the first question I would be asking if i were an immigration officer when a new study permit request comes to my desk given 9 years on a temporary basis including study and work sort of implies trying to stay on .Plus of course a PGWP is a once only so no PGWP post the Masters.

Don't worry, just say you worked for a couple of years and find what you learned in undergrad is not enough, and you want to master your knowledge in XXX area to aid your career. =)
