spouse to be non- accompanying

Hi, We're waiting for Medical request (me, my son and my spouse--all accompanying at the moment). But is there a way to make my spouse non-accompanying and he will just follow us in Canada after few years? So making my son only the accompanying dependent. Please help. I already paid for the rprf for all of us, nut that's ok if it will not be refunded. Just want my husband to be non-accompanying for now.
