hi guys,
I am from Brazil, and I’ve been dating a Canadian guy for three years. We got engaged last October and we are planning to get married on August (while I’m visiting Canada). So:
1) how long after getting married can we apply for the spouse sponsorship?
2) can I stay with him in Canada while it’s beint processed?
3) we are having a small ceremony at his grandparents house with about 15 people, and my parents won’t be able to attend because of financial and work reasons. Will we have any trouble proving that our marriage is genuine ?
Thanks a lot

Hi
1. As soon as you have the marriage certificate.
2. Yes. If you apply outland, you can apply to extend your visitor status. If you apply inland, you can include an OWP app; the OWP will arrive in 3-4 months.
3. With a 3 year relationship, you'll be fine.

Hi! I am also a Brazilian and I am in a very similar situation.
We are going to apply right after our wedding which will be at my boyfriends (Canadian) parents house next weeks. I am in Canada as a visitor.
1)The immigration lawyer told us everyone does apply after the wedding. It's not a big deal.
2) Yes you can.
3)My family won't come from Brazil as well. Same reason. We are together for 2,5 years so I think it's going to be okay.
Boa sorte
