I am in a bit of a dilemma of how to go about the PR process for my partner and I.
My partner will be eligible for express entry by end of next month. She has overseas experience , Canadian education and Canadian experience. When my profile is added in her Express entry application the scores get reduced, and the scores are above the current avg cut -off if she applies only for herself.
Is it advisable that she applies for herself and get the PR first and I apply as a sponsored spouse or should I apply along with her and wait for the scores to go down?
And what is the processing time for the spousal PR application? I am already in Canada working for a reputed organization on a Open work permit valid until end of 2022.
Yes, she can apply alone and add a letter explaining that even though you are in Canada with her, you are not accompanying her on the application for points reasons. As long as you still undergo a medical exam and background check during her application, she can later sponsor you for PR. That process takes about a year, but you can apply for another open work permit if need be.

Thanks for your response. I have already completed my background police checks and medical test. Regarding the OWP for the sponsored PR, how does that work? Should I apply for that along with the sponsor application or wait till the last 6 months of my owp to apply for the new one?
I have a few question regarding Canadian Experience class
1.My partner has experience from back home and has Canadian experience as well. So her profile will have both this experience.
Does having back home experience affect being picked in the Canadian Experience Class draw? Does CEC mean that the applicant should only have Canadian experience and no foreign experience?
2. My partner at present has just below the avg cut off score when she has a profile without adding me. She is planning to re take IELTS to improve the score.
I wanted to confirm if I can be added in the profile later with her new IELTS score?
