I am sponsoring my wife as a permanent resident. I have not sent the application. My wife's temporary status expires on the 19th of October and her multiple entry visa expires in December. Last October, her temporary resident extension application was extended for one year. We have the required documents but have some questions.
Do we need to make another application for entry visa?
Do we need to make another application for temporary resident visa?
Does sending the PR application automatically extend her status until the application is processed?
How do you plan on filing? we need to know that in order to answer the questions properly.
If filing In-land you will not need to extend her entry visa's as long as her application is mailed and received before they expire. she would then have implied status until the application is processed. She should not leave Canada while her application is in process. If they expire before you plan on sending in the application then Yes you should renew them.
If filing Out-land you should send off the extension now use the fact you just had a child and are applying for PR for the extension.
you can apply Out-land with her still with you, I have been in Canada the whole process... anyways as I said if you plan on sending in the application before her current visa expires she should have implied status but if not extend them now.
