Spouse Open Work Permit - Through VFS - March 2015

Hi All,

My husband is in Montreal, Canada on Work Permit for past 2 years which is expiring in December 2015.
I have applied for SOWP through VFS on 13th March 2015 stating that I intend to stay only till December 2015. I have submitted following documents other than the Open Work Permit and Family Details document:

1. My Passport
2. My Medicals Upfront
3. Police Certification
4. My Resume ( I am an IT Professional) and Relieving Letters of previous companies. I have already left my job before wedding in Feb 2015.
5. My Salary Slips
6. My Bank Statement
7. Cover Letter

8. His Passport (All pages)
9. His Work permit copy
10. His Employment letter
11. His Pay slips
12. His Bank Statement
13. His Apartment Lease Paper and Driving License

14. Our Marriage Certificate
15. Wedding Card
16. Wedding Pics
17. Random Pics of our meetings earlier and post wedding
18. Invitation Letter

Our total bank statement is more than 20 K CAD and now m waiting for the response. The status is showing that it is under process.
Do we have anyone with the same situation?

Hi Guys,
Just wanted share my timeline ask your opinion- Applied for SOWP for my wife and TRV for my daughter-
March 9th, 2015- Submitted paper application through VFS Delhi
April 2nd, 2015- Request for Medicals for both
April 6th, 2015- medicals done
Now waiting for update, any thoughts on further timeline or results?

My Application was paper based submitted in VFS Delhi,
For my wife i got email for medical request, but for my daughter they sent request with the passport through courier as she is minor and do not have any other ID to take to the doctor for medical.

Submitted on 2nd March , But still the status shows under process....

Any one who has submitted the application and waiting for response,,,,...

You need to send back your daughters passport to visa office via VFS along with medical completion forms and include a letter of explanation that your wife's passport is already with them.
Keep a copy of the medical completion form for your reference.

So here is the complete time line:

5th Feb 2015- Applied SOWP at VFS kolkata

Till two months didnt receive anything so mailed Delhi visa office.They replied that they had sent medical request on 23rd feb and are awaiting report.
My wife checked the email, she had missed the medical request email on 23rd Feb.
We quickly did the medical on 21st april.
on 28th april we got approval email and another email saying passport is dispatched.

My wife is in Canada since last two years on Study permit. She extended her study permit last month and now it is valid till June 2015.
She completed her studies this month and waiting for the result, She is planning to apply Post graduate work permit.

Can I get open work permit ?
Do I need to apply Visit Visa before applying for open work permit


Or My wife can apply for my open work permit with her application of PGWP?

Please suggest

What would be the better option to get Visit visa first or Apply Open work permit together with Visit visa.

Should I wait for my wife's Post Graduate work permit ? As currently she is on study permit which will expire in June
