I am vijay working in vegreville,AB as a cook for the past one year. I have been applied for my new work permit that is valid for two year with same employer where i am currently working now. I want to bring my wife to Canada i heard from my friend about the open work permit for the spouse, is that my wife is eligible for open work permit she did MBA and in good job in INDIA as a team manager in fund service company. If she is eligible where should i have to apply for owp whether inside Canada or from INDIA. Last April i have been applied for TRV for my wife from India it is got rejected. please advise me for thanking you friends in advance.
Your wife has to apply for the OWP from India. You have to send her a copy of your work permit and she shows that and a copy of your marriage certificate. However, she still needs to show strong ties to India and that she will go back there because if immigration thinks that she is a risk to overstay, she can still be refused.

Strong family ties, family she must take care of. She can also show your family ties stating she is coming to stay with you but after your stint in Canada, you will both return home to India because you both have parents to take care of etc. She might show assets but that is not that strong because assets can be sold. She might also show that she has good job opportunities in India and it would help if you do as well. If she can show that her job opportunities would be even better in India with some Canadian experience, that could help too.
