I tried looking on this forum for a topic like this but haven't found one yet, I apologize if there's repetition.
I am a PR and my wife is in Canada on a tourist visa (she's an Indian citizen). We have applied for her PR (Inland spousal sponsorship) + Open work permit.
My wife's visitor visa expires in 2023 and she has been in Canada for over a month now.
My question is whether she needs some kind of re-entry visa (apart from the tourist visa) to re-enter Canada.
Applying Inland, she shouldn't leave Canada for any great length of time. Anything more than a couple weeks. If for some reason she can't re-enter Canada, the application could denied.
Yes, it is a multiple entry visitor visa.
She wants to visit her family for 2-3 weeks.
Can she be denied entry even if she has an open work permit (what I mean is can she apply for TRV after she gets the open work permit and then re-enter Canada?)
Inland applicants are not recommended to leave Canada at all during the process. If she is denied re-entry (and yes, though the risk is small, she can be refused entry even with a valid TRV and OWP), the inland application is cancelled.
This is why outland is recommended for anyone who plans to leave Canada during the process.
