Hi
I have a friend who is a spouse of a Canadian citizen, both are out of the country in their country of origin ( India) due to employment of Citizen in India. Spouse has a valid PR with very little physical days in Canada - his PR expires in October this year - Question is will he be eligible to apply for Citizenship based on spouse's employment outside Canada - same question is can he also apply for PR card renewal on the same logic.

Citizenship is based on presence in Canada....short answer, No he can't. He does meet residency obligation by living with a Canadian outside of Canada, but can only renew his PR card in Canada.
Shortest answer : no.
Short answer : Is the canadian spouse a crown servant ? (military based in India, canadian diplomat...). If not, see shortest answer.

Great, thank you @KRP@sns204@ZingyDNA@Seym@Buletruck guys, I appreciate it - I was not aware of the crown servant clause. I will pass on the information.
