I have a Post Graduate Work Permit. My husband currently has a closed work permit, but would like to look for work elsewhere. In this case, we will have to switch him to an open work permit, once I am in employment (with a PGWP he is only entitled to a work permit if I am in employment). I have a post doc starting in September, which would suffice to get him a work permit.
However, I have found out that I am pregnant, due at the end of March.
What would happen if I am on maternity leave? Is he still entitled to the open work permit?
I am unsure yet whether my contract will last past March.
