Spousal Work Permit after AOR

Hi,
Me and my partner applied for PR together , me as the principle applicant, and we have received the AOR. My spouse hold a study permit at the moment and we wanted to apply his open work permit. The website says we are able to apply but then when we try to apply we have to select the student as the current status. I tried watching youtube videos but all of them are relative to the people with visitor visa. I wanted to ask how does it work for people who holds student visa.
