Me and my husband have applied for spousal sponsorship on January 30 2025. I am a Canadian citizen by birth and my husband is on visitor visa. So my question is my passport is expiring on march 25 2025 should i apply for new passport and if i do how do i upload it as the pr portal is locked and says submitted and i cannot view or upload any documents will the application be returned or denied? Any suggestions?

No, they neither care nor expect you to update with new passport details. You're a citizen, that status doesn't expire, and that's the primary reason they wanted a copy of the passport in the first place (apart from simple identification).

Oh okay thank you so much. Now here is a question if i update my passport do i have to upload it. Or it wont matter if i upload it or not? Will the ircc be like you didnt upload the new document as this one is no longer valid?
I am sorry for stupid questions but i just panic and get stressed about silly things.

I don't think there's any need whatsoever to upload. Nothing about your own status has changed; just your travel document. (Not to mention that IRCC is also citizenship agency and knows what the situation is anyway).
If it makes you feel better, you can upload it, sure. Won't hurt anything. Just pointless.
