Where did you hear that spousal sponsorship is being processed faster? 5-6 months is the usual timeframe for EE. No matter when you apply for a TRV there will be a concern that you won't return home once you are married and especially once you applied for PR.

Heard it from the Immigration Minister of Canada in a speech on 14th Feb. He did not mention 5-6mnths, but a faster processing timeline for sure. And noted reg the TRV.

The "faster" processing is 12 months from what I understand. They said it used to be 2 years or more. I'm not an expert but that's just how I understood it based on IRCC news.

It really depends on which VO your case will be transferred to, some are faster than others. CPC-Mississauga is currently one of the fastest one, for a straight forward case, it takes 4 to 5 months, most VOs take average 8 to 10 months, and unfortunately, NDVO is among the one of the slowest VO, it will likely to take 10 to 12 months for a straight forward case to be through the whole process.

Hi guys,
My husband (on H1B) and I (on H4 visa) are staying in the US currently. My husband already has a Canadian PR and his transfer process to Canada has been approved. However, the actual work will take at least a month. Meanwhile, I have secured an admit for Masters from a Canadian University. What are my chances of getting a student permit if we apply as dual intention visa and disclose that we will be applying for my PR in the future? What is the processing time for obtaining student permit?
