Hello! So I am a Canadian citizen and I married my husband 5 months ago who is indian and here on a student visa. His student visa is expiring soon (Nov 2018) so we’re trying to pull together a file for me to sponsor him as my spouse here. I’ve seen the waiting times for an inland PR process and I’m afraid his visa might expire by then. If so, would they terminate our application and I would have to start over via Outland application? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

If the plan is for your husband to stay with you after Nov 2018.......then better to submit an INLAND spousal sponsorship while your husband still has legal immigration status in Canada (i.e., acknowledgement of receipt of application is received before Nov 2018) and include application for Open Work Permit with the sponsorship application which will provide him an implied legal status.......however, with Inland application your husband is advised not to travel out of Canada while the application is been processed Inland as re-entry to Canada is not 100% guaranteed...........he may have to apply to extend his student visa if he wants to continue studying.
