Spousal sponsorship program update

Hi everyone,

I'm sponsoring my wife from Sri Lanka.

CIC is bringing up a new update, please refer cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

I'm almost done with all the paper work, but I won't be able to mail it by 15/Dec.

Do I have to fill the new forms or can I send the current forms even after 15/Dec?

Hi python,

You can submit the old paper application until January 31st, 2017. I am in the same boat, deciding whether to redo everything using the new forms, or submit my almost completed application using old forms. It might be processed faster with new forms since more streamlined (no one knows yet what will happen!), but you would also be able to get closer to the front of the line with old forms submitted sooner. So probably best to just submit it with old forms as soon as possible to get ahead of rush? First in, first out?
