Hi all,
I am a Canadian permanent resident and I am planning to get married. I want to know if CIC still accept Telephone/Skype Nikah as my spouse is in Pakistan ? or do I have to go back to get Pakistan get Nikah and come and than apply for her visa ?

No proxy marriages are allowed. You must do the marriage in person.

Yeah, there is no way that would be acceptable anymore, and for good reason. Only marriages where both people are physically present at the time of the ceremony are acceptable. And Nikah only is not enough--Rukhsati and Walima are also required, if you see the country specific requirements for Pakistan, for example.

There's nothing to debate. Proxy marriages are not permitted any longer.
