need some insight on my case.

getting married this month, I am a PR. Wife is from India and she has multiple visitor visa for canada valid for 2 years (thats when her passport expires) Most probably she is coming back with me after marriage in Feb and I am planning to apply for her PR and Open work permit till she gets her PR. as per cic this doesnt seem to be a difficult process. I went through all the forms and 1 thing I am not able to do is provide her proof of residence with me. She will be living with me, how should I show it legally?? I dont think i can add her to my rental lease as she is temporary resident in canada, nor can she get provincial identification card (i doubt this, maybe i can). I have already applied for a credit card under her name so that should bear our address and her name on it. with the credit card and her passport i can get her a mobile phone connection which technically is a utility.

as per alberta identification card requirement i need utility bill with address and a financial statement with her name and address.

can someone pls help me out on this. btw she has US visa too so if needed i can get her cross the border and re-enter canada legally as she has multiple visa for both countries.

You can show things like Phone connection - Buy it under your name, authorize your wife to use it. The online logins would show your wife name . You can also add your wife name as an occupant on the rental lease application. No documents etc are required. As a foreigner she can open up a bank account with the mailing address same as yours. I had done it for my grandfather from RBC bank. They do open up savings account. This can help you get the Alberta identification card.

Cheers

Yes, she can get a bank account and you can add her to a cell phone or other utility plan as a foreigner. It doesn't have to be her utility account, just add her to your account so you both get mail at that address.
