spousal sponsorship delay

hi, i submitted a spousal sponsorship outside of canada in february of this year and it has been 3months and we have not heard any word from CIC. the website states that the sponsor assessment takes 30days and yet its 3months and no word from them. eveythime we call they say they are processing the application. Why is it taking so long for them to assess the sponsor and what can we do.

You should contact your Member of Parliament and ask him or her to inquire on your behalf as your application has gone beyond the stated processing time for stage 1.
