We're in the process of applying through Common-law sponsorship and the OWP. I was on implied status and just received my refusal for extension on my work permit. I need to restore my status and wondering if I do this through the PR application or online then apply for the OWP on paper through sponsorship. Also will I need to restore as a visitor or worker?
You need to apply for restoration first, and have it approved, before you can apply for the OWP.
If you want to apply for the OWP along with your PR app, that means you have to wait until the restoration application is complete. You could submit the PR application first, but you wouldn't be eligible for the OWP until you'd reached "approval in principal" stage in the PR application.
