hi everyone. Looking for some advice. I am a Canadian citizen. My spouse is US permanent resident. He submitted an application for US spousal sponsorship in Oct 2023. However, US immigration wait times are brutal. We are now considering to apply for Canadian spousal sponsorship. We do not care where we will be living here or in the US. We do want to keep US spousal application, since we already spent so much time and money to prepare and submit everything. At the same time, we want to try Canadian one and whichever application gets processed sooner, we will live in that country. We are trying to understand if an active US application will create any issues with Canadian immigration. Any information/advice will be appreciated.

Well, it should not have any real impact except that it's hard for your (sponsor) to proof your intend to relocation to Canada while you have an active US spousal sponsorship.
