Hi guys, we just got approved for spousal sponsor, wondering what the time is for next step?

Wondering what visa office my paperwork would go to, im in USA hes in Canada.

Ottawa (Case Processing Centre) - Canada 15 months

New York – United States –????

Los Angeles – United States 32months

When will I get my UCI Identification number so I can look up application time online etc???

SO EXCITED

I thought it was going to Mississauga, ON???

All your questions should be on the document explaining that your sponsorhip was approved. How do you know you got approved?

Hubby just texted me (has smart phone with email), he is at work so he didnt relay that info. I was too excited and had to hop on here!

omg they are saying 15months :( over a year??? =cry=?!?!?!

The time is for the worst case scenario.
You can find on the e-mail you received things like VO and UCI number.

From lurking around on here, I think it's fair to say that most US applications are really quick, like 6 months. Most of them are processed in Canada. The trickier ones, like with criminality or questions about the genuineness of the relationship, are sent to American visa offices and that's where the time can really get up there.

Thank you guys! I am so excited I feel like puking and dancing all rolled into one. 6 months I am hopping! We sent in everything at once to help move things along, although I will have to redo my FBI background check because it expired by the time everything got sent.

HAPPY HAPPY DAAAAAAAAAAAANCE!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahaha! I upvoted that one, there's usually not much happiness on these boards! Please let us know what the letter says.

But they asked for a new FBI check?
Because it's up for 3 months. If CIC received it before expires, than you're ok.

I'm happy for your happiness!

Dan, yea by the time we did the medical and stuff, I had done my FBI check month or 2 before we sent in everything. My hubby had delay getting some information for sponsoring, and we wanted to send in everything at once. I think we missed it by a few weeks it will be out of date :( but when I asked for my FBI check it only took like a few weeks to get so hopefully wont be a major set back. Everything else is already done, they shouldnt ask for anything.

(Im hoping they will over look the date on my background check and say Im a good girl and let it slide...doubt that will happen though!)

Ok, I believe you're a good girl haha
I don't know the laws of US, but as far as I concerned, the FBI background take 2-3 months to get ready, right?
Why don't you ask a new one?

I guess I can now that I have my UCI # to route to the right persons?

CPC Ottawa
219 Laurier Av West
Ottawa,ON K1A1L1 Canada

So just do the FBI thing, and send it there? and it will get to the right person with my files?

...how would they know where my file is and get it there???

I just imagine a big office full of these files and stuff getting lost...

Put ur uci number on a letter explaining what documents you are submitting, there is no way to match the FBI police clearance to your application without the uci number.
