My partner and I are in the process of applying for his PR under the inland spousal sponsorship class. He meets all of the requirements to apply for an open work permit while his PR application is being processed. He is Irish, and is here on a two year open work permit that allows him to work for any employer in Canada without an LMIA or Offer of Employment. He is currently employed in Canada. My question is - what kind of supporting documentation should we provide with the Open Work Permit application considering he does not have an LMIA or Offer of Employment?
Thanks so much for your reply! The part I'm confused about is that the OWP application requires either an LMIA or an Offer of Employment number, and he has neither. So what kind of documentation should we provide instead?

Not sure what "requirements" you're talking about. The only single requirement here, is that an INLAND PR app is submitted. That is it. All applicants for PR are automatically eligible for the Open Work Permit simply by having the inland PR app submitted so you don't need to submit any other requirements.

Yes, the applicant must have valid status when submitting the app to qualify for the OWP. If they are out of status, they can apply for the OWP after AIP.
Yes that is still the case. But here the OP has no problem with status, they are wondering if one must "qualify" for the Inland PR OWP by having a job offer, LMIA, etc.
