Hi,
I am applying for permanent residency under the Spousal Sponsorship program. I have a daughter 11 years of age, however my former wife has full custody in her regard. I have remarried meanwhile, and my Canadian wife is willing to sponsor me to come to Canada.
It is clear that my former wife will not allow my daughter to immigrate with me to Canada. My daughter will NOT accompany me to Canada.
Nevertheless, I am not sure what will happen in the future so I want to keep my options open.
Therefore I have a couple of questions:
a. I understand that the Immigration officials examine dependents (and my daughter IS a dependent) in the same time with my application. What the heck does "examine" mean? What do I need to do in respect of my daughter other than declare her as my dependent on my application and state that she will not accompany me to Canada ???
What forms do I need to complete in respect of my daughter? Do I have to provide anything else? Medical forms? Another application? "Examine" = what? The entire thing is VERY unclear to me.
b. What can I do to speed up my application?
I do not want to have my application stopped because the immigration official wants to ask me stupid questions, if I can provide them beforehand, with my application.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Dan
