Good day all

I am looking to immigrate to Canada on a student visa. The government requires a proof of funds and my parents will be paying for me however, apparently he can not use his business's statements as a proof of funds. I have a cousin in Canada, is it possible for me to use their statements as a proof of funds?

Good day all

I am looking to immigrate to Canada on a student visa. Your father can in fact use his business's statements as proof of fund provided that he can demonstrate that he has sole ownership of this business and these funds are his.

Having your cousin provide proof of funds will significantly weaken your application.

I believe the company is a private company but is a partnership (of two), will that still be fine?

That changes things and no, I don't think that will work. Your father would need to be the sole owner. Can he transfer funds to his personal account from the business account?

You can have your cousin provide the bank statement but it will lower your chances of approval.

Can an Aunt who is outside Canada (in the US, I am in Africa) sponsor me then?

That still makes your application weaker.

To make your application strong, either you or your parents should show you have sufficient funds.

However you can certainly try applying with your aunt or cousin as a sponsor.
