I've looked around but didn't see anything with this specific answer- if it has already been answered I'd appreciate being directed to it.
Myself and our one year old son are dual citizens between USA and Canada and my husband is American. We're thinking about a move to Canada, specifically Quebec, and I'm having trouble figuring out the financial piece and the logistics surrounding the fact that we live in the US and how the application process goes.
I am a stay at home parent to our son and do not make any money. My husband makes a fair amount more than the family minimum amount requirements, but everything I've read seems to say that I need to be the one with the income stream.
I do plan on working in the social work field after my Master's which will be done in Summer 2021, but for now I stay home and study. My husband's work is remote and so he will be keeping his current employment through the move.
So, I guess my questions are:

So, I guess my questions are:
- How does the financial piece work- is it family income or would it be strictly considering my income? What happens if I have no income because I am a stay at home parent/student AND we live in the US so I would not have a job lined up once we get to Canada?
- How does this process work when we're al living in the US?
- I've heard that spouses being sponsored can get turned away at customs when coming into the country and are told to withdraw their application- how common is this?
- In terms of starting the process, at what point "can" we move to Canada? Do we have to go through the entire process? Can we apply and move while we wait?
