I am sponsoring my husband who lives with me in Canada and he has 2 kids which live back home with their mom. Do I need to provide any documents in the sponsorship application for the kids which I am not sponsoring?
We send the sponsorship applications and imm 0008 (Generic Application Form), but the immigration send them back and asked for the kids birth certificates which we cannot provide.

Well, if CIC returned your application and asked for more documents, you need to either provide them or provide a letter of explanation why you cannot provide them.

As a parent of the children, though, the father should have the right to request a duplicate of the birth certificates from the appropriate authorities.

I don't think you'll really get an answer that is alternative to the response you received from CIC on this forum :(

Assuming that these children are less than 22 years old, they will also require medical examinations as well, even if they are not being sponsored. I hope that you are aware of this requirement...
